GE Grid Solutions joins the global green gas project in Saudi Arabia. 💚
The company has signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro for the supply of gas-insulated substations for the world’s largest green gas power plant in Oxagon. NEOM Green Hydrogen Company plans to produce up to 600 tons of green gas per day by the end of 2026, using only renewable wind and solar energy.
GE’s gas-insulated substation technology will provide reliable power to the gas-fired power plant and associated wind and solar power plants. GE is responsible for the design, production and delivery of equipment for 92 substations.
The project is an important milestone for Saudi Arabia in its transition to sustainable development and demonstrates the country’s commitment to clean energy. Larsen & Toubro, as the contractor, is responsible for the construction of a solar and wind power plant and an energy saving system, as well as the construction of substations and power lines.
