Reliability proven even in the harshest environmental conditions

GE’s GL 314 live tank circuit breakers for outdoor installations feature third-generation switching chambers and spring mechanisms (FK). These reliable connection chambers operate on the principle of energy-optimized self-exhaust. FK3 type mechanisms equip the entire range of circuit breakers with over 180,000 references around the world.

GL 314 mechanisms are reliable and proven in high voltage switchboards, ensuring high mechanical strength and very low probability of re-tripping in accordance with the IEC 622271-100 standard class M2 and C2. GE live tank circuit breakers provide a high level of reliability, even in extreme conditions and climates or in areas with high seismic activity.

Components

  • Single or three-pole control.
  • Connection chambers with self-blowing technology.
  • FK3 spring drives equipped with a visible position indicator.
  • Reliable, temperature-compensated density meter with two-stage signaling and three-color indicator.
  • Easy access to the SF6 filling valve (DILO type).
  • Seals suitable for temperatures down to -60°C.
  • Hot-dip galvanized steel parts, drive housings made entirely of aluminum.

Options

  • Standard equipment, additional equipment available.
  • Composite insulators.
  • Seismic dampers.
  • Pressure relief system for passive protection of the station and service personnel.
  • RPH3 Controller: Connect relay at a specific point in the waveform.
  • CBWatch: Compact and modular circuit breaker monitoring solution.

Installation and maintenance

  • Factory adjustment before shipment – no adjustment during installation or commissioning.
  • Disassembly of the connection chamber is possible without removing the entire column.

Testing

Live tank switches meet the requirements of national and international standards. This has been confirmed by comprehensive tests based on the latest versions of IEC standards.

Quality

GE quality management (ISO 9001:2008), environmental management (ISO 14001:2004) and occupational health and safety (OHSAS 18001:2007) determine the direction of development and principles of production of high-voltage switches. They ensure the highest quality of our products and services, which is confirmed by regular audits.
